After leaving Island Kosher in Meiers Corners on a Sunday afternoon, a 32-year-old father and his 7-year-old kid were hit by a BB gun fired from a passing car, according to the victim and Staten Island Shomrim.

Around 4:20 p.m., the BB pistol was discharged from a black Ford Mustang, possibly with Pennsylvania plates, according to NYPD, operated by a  Caucasian male before escaping the area.

The victim, who requested anonymity, told Islandinfo that one of the pellets hit his son’s ear, causing swelling.

The 32-year-old was also shot in the torso, but he said his jacket lessened the blow’s force.

The unprovoked assault happened while the two were leaving Island Kosher Deli, which is located at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Carmel Avenue.

The victim, a Chasidish man, 32, said, “We came out of the grocery. He came to a stop, fired at us, then took off.

According to Shomrim and NYPD, no one has been arrested. The incident’s cause was not immediately apparent.

The store remained open on Sunday night, and the NYPD and Shomrim were present and actively canvassing the neighborhood while the scene was being investigated.
