Four divers went missing Sunday off the Carolinas, according to the U.S. Coast Guard, who stated they were still missing.
After diving off of Big Bill’s, a pleasure boat, the four guys did not surface. In a news statement on Sunday, the Coast Guard stated that the ship was about 63 miles (101 kilometers) east of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and about 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Cape Fear, North Carolina.
Divers are drawn to the numerous shipwrecks off the shores of both states. The region is referred to as the “Graveyard of the Atlantic” and is noted for having hundreds of shipwrecks.
The Coast Guard reported sending numerous planes and boats to look for the divers.
