A brawl between two groups in Florida turned fatal when gunfire during Halloween celebrations in a street in Tampa left two people dead and 18 others hospitalized early on Sunday morning, according to police.
At least one other person is wanted, and one is now in custody. Just before 3 a.m., at least two shooters started firing. Ybor City neighborhood on the 1600 block of East 7th Avenue, according to Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw at a press conference held there.
According to Bercaw, there were a lot of late-night partygoers present when the incident took place because it took place in a neighborhood with a lot of bars and clubs.
Police were unsure right away whether the fight’s participants were inside any of the establishments prior to the shooting.
Numerous nightclubs closed early on Sunday, according to Tampa police spokesperson Jonee Lewis, and “hundreds” of individuals were seen walking the streets.
She reported that, although one person was detained, no charges were immediately brought. Lewis stated, “They’re being questioned, and we’ll take it from there.” The names of those deceased have not been disclosed by the police, but according to Emmitt Wilson, his son Elijah, 14, was one of those killed.
On Sunday, Wilson arrived at the scene after learning that his kid was a victim via phone call. It seems crazy to me. Wilson remarked, “I don’t even feel like I’m here right now. “I hope the detectives do their job and catch the killer of my son,” the mother said.
Online videos show people drinking and conversing on the street while wearing Halloween costumes when approximately a dozen bullets ring out, followed shortly by another eight, causing a panic.

And there were hundreds of innocent bystanders who were caught up in this conflict between the two parties, Bercaw claimed. He didn’t go into detail about the wounds the patients who were taken to the local hospitals had.
According to him, police are currently looking into what caused the confrontation between the two groups.
