By 10/25/2022 12:34 PMNo CommentsBy YidInfo Staff

According to Shomrim, a young Orthodox man was struck on Motzoei Shabbos while strolling through Williamsburg.

Around 1:30 a.m. near Penn Street and Lee Avenue, the victim, an 18-year-old man wearing Jewish clothing, was struck in the head from behind, sending his hat and yarmulka to the ground.

It doesn’t seem like the attacker spoke to the victim before assaulting him.

The NYPD, Shomrim, and Hatzalah were contacted. The sufferer was not gravely hurt, although he did experience back the headache.

The suspect can be seen fleeing the crime site on security footage that Shomrim gave the NYPD. The Hate Crimes Task Force of the NYPD is looking into it.

Shomrim and the NYPD are contacting anyone with information about the incident.
