An American comic of Palestinian descent decided to display his heritage by donning a t-shirt bearing the image of Leila Khaled, a convicted Palestinian terrorist, brandishing a gun.
Do you always have to be Palestinian?
” Zahr said. The airport, too? Yes! ”
Khaled belonged to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which the US State Department has classified as a terrorist group.
She was involved in two attempts to hijack planes, one in 1969 and the other in 1970, earning the distinction of being the “first female to hijack an airplane.”
Zahr, a comedian of Palestinian descent, was born in Jordan to Palestinian parents but has resided in the US since he was three.
He participated in various successful humorous projects, including a festival and a documentary, and acted as a national surrogate for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign in 2016.
