
At the 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue subway stations in New York City, an unidentified man assaulted a nameless woman for a purpose he made blatantly plain.
He allegedly punched the 29-year-old in the face, yelled, “You are Jewish,” and ran away. It was reportedly an unprovoked attack. The suspect is depicted in two photos issued by the New York City Police Department as having light-brown skin, a beard, and donning a dark-green hat.
Additionally, he was depicted in one shot raising his hands up in a surrender position while donning a black vest over a green shirt.
The woman received minor injury treatment. Investigating the event is the NYPD’s hate crimes division. The victim’s ethnicity has not yet been verified as Jewish.
