
Using an ax to reportedly smash a barrier gate at an employee parking lot at Denver International Airport, a United Airlines pilot has been charged with criminal mischief.
The pilot told authorities that he was trying to assist numerous drivers when “he just hit his breaking point.”
On August 2, Kenneth Henderson Jones, 63, is accused of repeatedly using a long-handled ax to strike the metal parking arm, knocking it off of its base, and then running away when a lot attendant questioned him.
The worker informed the authorities that Jones had dropped the firearm during a fight close to a security fence. The pilot then fled into a nearby field, where Denver police apprehended him.
Jones took the axe from his parked car to assist the drivers in leaving, according to a report by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Jones informed a deputy that around six automobiles were behind each of the parking lot’s three departure gates.

The Associated Press on Friday night According to an airline statement released on Friday, Jones “was removed from the schedule and is on leave while United conducts an internal investigation.”
According to the sheriff’s office report, the lot manager estimated that it would cost around $300 to repair the broken parking arm.
