The vandal who wrote anti-Semitic graffiti on a scrolling message board outside an Upper East Side synagogue is being sought by police.
At around 7 o’clock in the evening, the unidentified suspect approached the Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun Synagogue at 125 East 85th Street.
The NYPD reported that on Saturday, someone defaced a screen connected to the place of worship with graffiti using a marker.
He was described by police as a 25-year-old male with short black hair and a slender physique.
After the nasty deed, he fled on East 85th Street while sporting a white tank top, camouflage shorts, and white sneakers.
On Saturday night, the lettering had been removed. The sign wasn’t harmed in any way.
Even though there was a service set for 9 a.m., the synagogue remained vacant. Police reported that the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is looking into the case.
