According to the Pennsylvania State Police, two firefighters perished while putting out a house fire where a body had been discovered, but the two occupants had managed to escape unharmed.

According to Trooper David Beohm, the deceased firefighters were Marvin Gruber, 59, and Assistant Fire Chief Zachary Paris, both of the New Tripoli Fire Company.

The property is located in West Penn Township, close to Tamaqua in Schuylkill County, and another individual’s body was found outside the house on the property.

We have a body in the rear, which is still under investigation, according to Boem.

Two residents of the three-story single-family home — “an uncle and nephew,” according to West Penn Township Police Chief James Bonner — managed to escape the blaze. Injuries to two additional firefighters, he claimed, were being attended to.

Just before 4 o’clock, they claimed, more than 100 firefighters and police officers arrived.

According to Bonner, the Pennsylvania State Police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms also assist in the investigation at the live crime scene.
