In the city of Bnei Brak, the infestation of rats that has been affecting the locals recently persists unabatedly.
Worshipers in one of the city’s shuls were dismayed to discover that one of the city’s Sifrei Torah had been destroyed by rodents, making it invalid.
This came after a two-year-old child was attacked a few weeks prior and was hospitalized after being bitten by a rat.
The campaign against rats and other vermin is being led by Yaakov Wieder, a city council member and the leader of the Likud faction, who has urged the government to take action.
Wieder stated, “This horrific infestation of rats and weasels that endangers life and limb is affecting a quarter of a million citizens of Bnei Brak, and nobody is doing anything about it.
“I urge the government to declare Bnei Brak a dangerous area and to issue an injunction compelling the city to take immediate action to end this scourge,” she said.
