Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) responded to criticism for calling Israel a “racist” state by stating that “most of us that get called out are women, Black, Brown, and immigrants.” The Coalition for Jewish Values’ president, Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld, said the following:
It is truly shameful that Rep. Jayapal would hide behind her color or gender to shield herself from reprimand over her antisemitic expression. Is there anything more racist than that?
But this is not new; several of their colleagues falsely cried bigotry when Rep. Omar was finally removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. A better question to ask is how so many Americans came to believe it acceptable to elect open antisemites as long as they are non-white and/or non-male, and why these representatives are accepted as members in good standing of a major political party.
The largest rabbinic public policy group in America, the Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), represents more than 2,000 traditional Orthodox rabbis. CJV is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that advocates for traditional Jewish principles, human rights, and religious freedom in American public affairs.
