Teaming up for one impressive Grab-and-Go store in new York City- Amazon and Starbucks opened open their first Starbucks Pickup with Amazon Go on Thursday in New York.
With at least two more New York stores planned for the next year, the existing, newly opened pick-up place offers the full Starbucks menu as well as prepared salads, sandwiches, and snacks from Amazon Go. There is also a lounge area with tables and workspaces. As it stands, the store is part of a larger shift for Starbucks, which has been replacing underperforming stores with pickup and drive-thru-focused locations.
While at the store, customers can order drinks and food using the Starbucks app or shop the Amazon Go section, which automatically tallies items added to the cart so customers don’t have to wait in line to check out.
“The new Starbucks Pickup with Amazon Go is designed to provide our customers with an experience that delivers convenience and connection in an effortless way,” said Katie Young, senior vice president of global growth and development at Starbucks.
Located in Midtown Manhattan, the new cashier-less shop and cafe stands on East 59th Street, between Park and Lexington avenues.
