Schumer requests an FDA investigation into the amount of caffeine in Prime energy drinks

Children and teenagers are great fans of PRIME energy drinks, which have colorful bottles, a variety of delicious flavors, and celebrity endorsements from Logan Paul and KSI of the popular YouTube channel.

They are vegan, low in calories, contain electrolytes, have more caffeine than a Coke, and are vegan.

Lawmakers are concerned about that final clause. Sen. Charles Schumer of New York urged the Food and Drug Administration to look into PRIME on Sunday due to its dangerously high caffeine content.

Schumer claims in a letter that misleading marketing directed at children causes parents to buy a “cauldron of caffeine” for their children.

“One of the summer’s hottest status symbols for kids is not an outfit or a toy—it’s a beverage,” Schumer said.

“But buyers and parents beware because it’s a serious health concern for the kids it so feverishly targets.”
