Nicole Malliotakis’s (NY-11) refusal to commit to standing by the large Jewish community she wishes to continue to represent is causing many voters to voice their hesitancy in voting for her on November 8.
Last month, Malliotakis refused to take a stance or defend yeshivas which are still under attack.
Additionally, when a long-time campaign staffer for Nicole Malliotakis, yelled “Heil Hitler” during a lockdown protest in January 2021, Malliotakis refused to assure her constituents that she would cut ties with the staffer.
Leticia Remauro served as Malliotakis campaign manager in 2017 and was part of her 2020 campaign, during which she was paid $90,000.
Despite Malliotaki apologizing for her strategist’s searing outburst and calling the rant “shocking and wrong,” spokespeople for Malliotakis declined to say if the congresswoman would commit to cutting ties with the staffer.
Concerns abound as the needs of the Jewish community Malliotakis was elected to represent, including Staten Island, seem to get swept under the rug time and time again despite upcoming elections.
