The suspected Palestinian terrorist who opened fire on security personnel at Maale Adumim, east of Jerusalem, killing Border Policewoman Sgt. Noa Lazar, 18, and badly wounded another guard was killed on Wednesday night.
Udai Tamimi was the terrorist slain in the incident on Wednesday, according to police sources.
Tamimi is believed to have lazar and critically hurt a civilian guard at a checkpoint close to the Shuafat refugee camp on October 8.
The terrorist was the target of a massive search by security authorities, but East Jerusalem Arab residents helped him evade capture until the second incident.
On Tuesday, police detained eight people suspected of supporting the wanted terrorist.
A 24-year-old security guard was injured in his hand and transported by the Magen David Adom ambulance service to the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem.
According to the hospital, his condition was described as mild.
“We will not rest until we capture every terrorist who attacks Israeli people and IDF soldiers,” Prime Minister Lapid praised security officers for killing the terrorist.
We will combat terrorism with an iron fist and without hesitation.
