In another major announcement during Google’s Developer Keynote on Tuesday, an exciting new feature was introduced wherein Spotify’s 356 million users globally would now be able to download music directly to their watch, and listen to it at times when they don’t want to carry their phone.

Apart from the fact that Google will be merging its Wear OS with Samsung’s Tizen, the tech giant also announced that the updated OS would bring faster performance and longer battery life, and more music to our lives. According to the announcement, Google and Samsung have announced a partnership to redesign Google’s Wear OS for watches, and Samsung’s future Galaxy watches will run on this new software.

Also, Fitbit is making a Wear OS app and will have its own watch too. These next-generation watches will be more cellular-ready, have better battery life, and also look like they’ll have more fitness and health features.

Along with Spotify, the YouTube Music app is also getting an update, which will similarly add the ability to download music directly to Wear devices, allowing users to listen without a phone nearby.
