A security guard was attacked and stabbed by a terrorist on Thursday night in northern Jerusalem, which is another indication of the growing desire of terrorist groups to carry out assaults over the holiday season.
The station is located where French Hill and Givat Hamivtar converge. While fending off the attacker, the security guard—a member of the railway security detail—suffered a minor hand injury.
The terrorist was taken out by a police officer, who opened fire on him. The guard received additional medical attention at the nearby Hadassah Har Hatzofim hospital.
The terrorist, a 19-year-old East Jerusalem native, was transported to the hospital for treatment after the attack and suffered critical injuries. The police are looking into what happened.
The recent incident comes after two prior failed attacks within the past 24 hours in which two terrorists were apprehended with knives in their possession as they prepared to attack locals in the Tel Aviv area.
