By 11/26/2022 7:25 PMNo CommentsBy YidInfo Staff

Staten Island Shomrim and the NYPD are working together to put a halt to an increase in residential break-ins in the areas of Westerleigh and Willowbrook.

The NYPD 121 Precinct has recieved multiple complaints for burglaries on Staten Island. Shomrim says, the burglars arrive in the early AM hours and strike homes in which they are definite that no one is home, by breaking the locks and forcing their way in.

Below are some tips that may prevent being victimized by burglars when home or when away:
Lock all doors and windows firmly
• Set timers for lights when leaving your home for the night to leave the impression that the home is occupied
• Arrange to have a neighbor take in delivered packages
• Keep your vehicle or one of your neighbors vehicles in your driveway

By following the aforementioned, you can reduce the likelihood of falling victim to a burglary.
