The rosh yeshiva of Slobodka in Bnei Brak, Rav Dov Landau, exhorted his students to act as “Bnei Torah,” even during bein hazmanim, as the summer break draws near.
In a publicly available video, Rav Landau is heard warning the bochurim not to engage in disputes or arguments with chilonim.
Additionally, he underlined that students’ essences and identities are unaffected by the fact that they are leaving yeshiva for the summer.
There is a period of time termed “holiday,” during which you remain bnei Torah, he stated, adding: “You don’t change; you don’t become different. This is vital to remember.
Be a ben Torah and conduct yourself accordingly.
Don’t debate or argue with Chilonim on anything, please. Be respectful at all times. The Bnei Torah are deserving in and of themselves.
All yeshivos should adhere to all four of the Shulchan Orech’s parts during Bein Hazmanim in order to maintain their Bnei Torah status.
