Early on Sunday, Israel launched airstrikes on regions close to the Syrian city of Homs, which resulted in material damage but no injuries, according to a statement from the Syrian military.
According to the Israeli military, a Syrian anti-aircraft missile detonated over Israeli land, resulting in more attacks.
An anonymous military officer was reported by Syrian state media as stating that some of the missiles fired by Israeli airplanes over neighboring Lebanon were intercepted by air defenses.
Regarding the bombing of Homs, Israeli officials remained silent. However, according to the military, one of Syria’s air defense missiles detonated over Israeli land without doing any harm.
The Remains of the missile, according to Israeli authorities, were found near the city of Rahat in southern Israel.
Israeli jets attacked the air defense installation where the anti-aircraft rocket was launched in retaliation.
Without going into further detail, the military said it had hit additional targets. Hundreds of attacks on targets in government-controlled areas of neighboring Syria have been carried out in recent years by Israel, which has promised to prevent Iranian entrenchment nearby, although it seldom admits them.
On June 14, a suspected Israeli attack on Syria took place close to the capital, Damascus, and injured one soldier.
Over the past few years, Israel has also repeatedly attacked the international airports in Aleppo, a city in northern Syria, and Damascus, frequently taking them down.
