
On Saturday afternoon in the Bronx, a 12-year-old boy was cut following a dispute over a basketball game, according to the police.
Around 3:40 p.m., the child and his assailant got into a heated fight while playing basketball on the courts in the Marble Hill Playground, which separates the boroughs of the Bronx and Manhattan, on the Bronx side.
Police reported a teenage offender stabbing the 12-year-old in the chest with an unidentified instrument.
Then, according to authorities, the assailant fled the area.
The 12-year-old was brought to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where his status was stable.
The inquiry is still open, and there have been no arrests.
