In the vicinity of the southern Hevron exit, close to the hamlet of Beit Hagai and not far from the scene of last week’s horrific attack, in which preschool teacher Batsheva Nagari was killed, a terrorist was killed on Wednesday after attempting to ram a group of IDF soldiers.
The terrorist was defeated by members of Battalion 603 of the Seventh Brigade, who were nearby the army checkpoint. One soldier received an arm scratch.
“In response to the initial tip, an attacker drove up to Junction 200, which is close to the city of Hevron, and began to drive toward IDF personnel who were engaged in normal operations at a military post.
The attacker was neutralized by the on-scene soldiers, according to the IDF. “An IDF soldier was lightly hurt after being struck by the car. He was given medical attention on the spot and sent to a hospital for additional care. His family has already been informed.
Ten days have passed since the tragic terrorist attack that resulted in the death of Batsheva Nagari and the serious injuries of Aryeh Gotlieb, according to a statement from Beit Hagai.
And in this instance, the terrorists serve as a painful reminder that terror still exists. As a result, we need to take extra, more original steps to put an end to the terrorists’ operations.
“This terrorist attack strengthens our demand that the exits from Hevron be immediately sealed off, and we demand that the IDF carry this out immediately to prevent any further casualties or injuries.”
