On Erev Shabbos, Hagaon Rav Asher Weiss, the hospital’s halachic authority, hospital director Professor Ofer Marin, and hospital rabbi Moshe Peleg paid visits to those in Jerusalem who were recovering from bomb blast injuries.
The three went to see a 62-year-old guy who had multiple surgeries to remove body parts from him and is now healing.
As he was on his way to Meron at the time of the bombing, the man shocked the visitors by displaying a Tehillim with him.
The shard that tore the Tehillim’s pages and rear cover halted at the verse, “Our soul escaped like a bird from the hunters’ snare; the snare burst, and we escaped,” in Tehillim 124.
The injured man, who asked to remain unidentified, agreed to the publication of a photo of the shredded Tehillim and emphasized that “this is what can assist.”
Some commentators interpret this pasuk to pertain to Yishmael, who tries to catch Jews, but they manage to get away.
