On Thursday night, a group of Gedoli Hador gathered to inaugurate the Refuah helpline’s Brooklyn headquarters that aim to help every individual with their medical emergencies.
Those attending the event were respected figures from the Jewish community including Viznitz Rabbi Yerushalayim, Rabbi Binyomin Landau, Rabbi Hershel Ausch, Rabbi Mechel Steinmetz, and Rabbi Zisha Ausch among others.
The earlier headquarters located in Upstate NY, had reached the point where the volunteers became overwhelmed by the number of cases they were dealing with, the questions they answered, the referrals they arranged, and the guidance they provided. But no matter how swamped they were, they always continued to put others’ lives first, because as is their mission-Refuah Helpline will never leave a call unanswered.
This is why the helpline saw the need of opening a Brooklyn Headquarters, with a new staff, dedicated towards lending help in a medical crisis.
During the event, some of the Gedolei Harabanim and Askanim delivered speeches of inspiration, mentioned their gratitude towards donors, and expressed how in awe they are over Refuah Helpline’s work, as they are all personally involved in attending to some calls as well.
