The incident that claimed the life of a young Kiryas Joel youngster, according to the NY State Police, was an accident.
Efrayim Yaakov Lebowitz, 6, was struck and killed by a school bus, as Yidinfo reported on Sunday.
According to the State Police investigation, a school bus operated by EMESS Transportation was going northeast on Seven Springs Mountain Road at around 11:01 a.m. when a 6-year-old boy rushed into the road in front of the bus, causing him to be struck.
The infant was pronounced dead at the scene, and the car kept going.
A short while later, the bus and its driver arrived at the site.
At this time, it doesn’t appear that the accident was criminal because the operator wasn’t intoxicated.
