The latest poll has shown that most people living in the urban areas of New York are in full support of the vaccine mandate of the government.
In a study conducted by the CUNY School of Public Health and just published in nature.com, it was learned that the number of people unwilling to get vaccinated in New York City is 10.1 percent.
The same study also shows that the resistance rate for the entire country was more than 21 percent.
The researchers said the main reason for the vaccine resistance is that most people want to see if there are no serious complications from the vaccine.
Ayman El-Mohandes, dean of the CUNY School of Public Health and co-author of the study said Americans should not let their guards down against COVID.
“As long as the virus is lurking among us, another variation or mutation can flare up,” El-Mohandes said.
“We had not heard of the Delta variant, and suddenly it appeared. That’s what we’re afraid of,” El-Mohandes added.
Moreover, El-Mohandes revealed that vaccine mandates have proven effective.
