Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York arrived in Israel on Wednesday to support the nation during its conflict with Hamas. Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog, met the Democrat at Ben-Gurion International Airport in the vicinity of Tel Aviv.
Following a security briefing, Hochul visited with families close to the airport before going to a food pantry to assist in packing and delivering boxes for combat refugees. Hochul is anticipated to spend the night in Jerusalem.
She claimed that the purpose of her visit was to show solidarity with and support for Israel. According to the American Jewish Population Project at Brandeis University, New York has the greatest Jewish population of any American city.
According to Hochul, there has always been a strong link between Israel and New York State that has been forged over many years.
