
After no winning ticket was purchased for the Saturday drawing, an estimated $650 million jackpot will be up for grabs in the following Powerball drawing.
The new jackpot for the drawing on Monday is the ninth-highest in the game’s history.
No one was able to match all six numbers drawn—wwhite balls 7, 23, 24, 32, 43, and red Powerball 18—aand the jackpot rolled over, according to Powerball authorities on Sunday.
There was a 2X Power Play multiplier. Since April 19, when a ticket in Ohio yielded a reward of $252.6 million, no one has won the Powerball.
Without a jackpot winner, 34 consecutive draws have taken place.
The game’s pitifully low chances of 1 in 292.2 million are intended to create large jackpots that entice additional players.
In November of last year, the $2.04 billion Powerball prize became the record-holder.
The winners of the $650 million jackpot will receive it in 29 years through an annuity.
Most winners prefer cash, which would be $328.3 million for Monday night’s drawing.
