
Authorities in Illinois reported that a Greyhound bus struck several commercial cars stopped on an exit ramp on Interstate 70, resulting in at least three fatalities and 14 significant injuries.
At 1:54 in the morning, members of Illinois State Police Troop 8 responded to a report of a collision on I-70 westbound at the Silver Lake Rest Area in Madison County.
ISP released a post on Facebook following the bus’s collision with three commercial cars on Wednesday local time.
ISP claimed in the statement that “three fatalities are confirmed” and “multiple others were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.” “No one was hurt inside the commercial motor vehicles.”
According to ISP, four of the injured victims were flown to the hospital by helicopter, and at least 10 more were transferred there by ambulance.
In a statement, Greyhound stated that the bus was heading from Indianapolis to St. Louis and that several passengers, including the driver, had been sent to the hospital.
