Starting Thursday, TikTok will launch subscription modules similar to Twitch in its Beta version for users to provide monetary support to specific live streamers that they like.
The new feature called ‘Live Subscription’, gives fans access to perks like a subscriber-only chat, creator-specific emotes, and badges that differentiate them from non-subscribers. It’s launching in beta on May 26th, according to an announcement video posted on the TikTok Live Creator page.

According to a blog post by TikTok, the Live Subscription will be a monthly subscription on TikTok for people to show their appreciation for their favorite LIVE creators. LIVE Subscription will initially be available to invite-only creators this month and will then become available globally over the coming months.
Some creators on TikTok have already begun announcing that they’re soon going to be part of the program, and are happy with the fact that they’ll start getting monthly income from the app.
The program is similar to the one that exists for Twitch users. The price of TikTok Live Subscriptions will be “comparable” to Twitch packages, which start at $4.99 a month (though there are tiers that range up to $24.99 a month).
Unlike TikTok’s earlier creator programs, through this model, viewers will be billed for their subscriptions every month, and the money goes straight to the creator. TikTok hasn’t yet mentioned whether it will be taking its cut from this monthly bill.
