President Trump’s envoy to Israel and orthodox Jew David Friedman criticized Trump for meeting antisemites Kanye West and Nick Fuentes in a short tweet.
Friedman referred to Kanye as an “antisemite” and “bum,” and Fuentes was dubbed “human filth.”
He wrote on Twitter, “Even a casual visit from a human slime like Nick Fuentes and an antisemite like Kanye West is intolerable.
I implore you to dismiss those scumbags, distance yourself from them and consign them to history’s trash can.
“I opposed Barack Obama’s association with Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright,” he continued.
It is the same with this. Right or left, anti-Semites should not be tolerated by American leaders.
Several other well-known Republican Jews have also spoken out against Trump.
“We strongly condemn the virulent antisemitism of Kanye West and Nick Fuentes and call on all political leaders to reject their messages of hate and refuse to meet with them,” Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, said to the Washington Post.
Trump has acknowledged that he met Fuentes at a dinner with Kanye West. Fuentes is outspoken about his severe anti-Semitic and racist beliefs on his podcast.
Trump claimed to be unaware of Fuentes’ attendance and to be completely unfamiliar with him. Trump added, “[Ye] abruptly turned up with three of his cronies, about whom I knew nothing.
Kanye claimed in a video shared on social media that Trump was “very impressed” by Fuentes.
An advisor who was present also claimed that Trump was impressed with Fuentes.
He was amazed by Nick’s familiarity with Trump World.
Nick was well-versed in the people, figures, speeches, rallies, and aspects of the Trump culture, especially among the base, according to Karen Giorno, a former senior assistant to the president.
To my friend Donald Trump, you are better than this. Even a social visit from an antisemite like Kanye West and human scum like Nick Fuentes is unacceptable. I urge you to throw those bums out, disavow them and relegate them to the dustbin of history where they belong. 1/
