In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy has perished in a fire on Daniel Street in Jerusalem, officials say.
The incident occurred at around 11:30 pm local time when a fire broke out in an apartment on the 4th floor of a residential apartment building on Daniel Street in the Musrara neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Firefighters and members of Ichud Hatzolah (United Hatzolah) rushed to the scene of the fire where they found an apartment fully involved in flames. After the firefighters have made the routine searches in the structure, they found a 12-year-old boy severely burned. With no signs of life and with severe burns, a local paramedic from Ichud Hatzolah confirmed the death of the boy.
ZAKA volunteers from Jerusalem treated the deceased.
Additionally, members from Ichud Hatzolah treated two patients with mild symptoms of smoke inhalation.
According to the Jerusalem fire department, the fire started from an electrical malfunction.
