On their way back from the tziyon of Rabi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron throughout the previous night, two yeshiva bochurim sadly died in a terrible vehicle accident on Route 6.
The bochurim were inside a car with four other passengers when the driver lost control and slammed into a guardrail, seriously injuring all occupants, one of whom was thrown from the vehicle.
The two most seriously injured victims were cousins who were 14 and 17 years old.
Paramedics who arrived on the scene quickly tried to revive them, but regrettably, they were unsuccessful.
Nosson Neta Rosenbaum, z’l, 17, a talmid of Yeshivas Toras Chaim Vizhnitz in Elad and a resident of Bnei Brak, and Chaim Werthheimer, z’l, 14, a talmid of Yeshivas Machnovka Belz in Elad and a resident of Elad, were eventually identified as the niftarim.
Paramedics described the terrifying scene as “a horrific accident. A car had been smashed on the road, and its bits were all over the place.
An unconscious boy occupied the car’s rear seat, and another boy was unconscious about 30 meters from the car.
We attempted to save them, but despite showing no signs of life, we were eventually compelled to pronounce them dead.
The father of one of the niftarim and three boys, ages 16, 13, and 12, who were also passengers in the car, were all fully conscious and suffering from injuries when they were found outdoors.
Their condition is described as moderate and stable in the hospital, where we removed them for more examinations and care.
In Bnei Brak, on Monday night, the Vizhnitz chatzer will host the levaya for the bochurim.
