Trump Opens 2024 Run

The former president Donald Trump made his first campaign rallies since announcing his new candidacy for the presidency more than two months ago on Saturday with stops in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

At a nighttime ceremony in Columbia to present his South Carolina leadership team, Trump stated, “Together we will finish the unfinished job of making America great again.”

After a poor start to his campaign that led many to doubt his resolve to run again, Trump and his supporters hope that the events in states with significant influence in choosing the nominee will deliver a show of force behind the former president.

“They said that he was not holding rallies or running for office. At the New Hampshire GOP’s annual conference in Salem, Trump remarked, “Perhaps he’s lost that step.

In South Carolina, he further shot down the rumors by stating that “we have large rallies planned, greater than ever before,” noting, “I’m angrier now, and I’m more determined now than I ever was.”

While Trump has largely been confined to his Florida property and the surrounding golf course in the months since his announcement, his advisers believe they have been active behind the scenes.

His campaign has started hiring employees at its new Palm Beach, Florida headquarters. Additionally, supporters have recently been contacting political operatives.

In New Hampshire, Trump touted his campaign platform and declared that his ideas would directly oppose those of Vice President Joe Biden. Biden, who finished sixth in New Hampshire in 2020, was accused of “disgracefully trashing this great political tradition,” citing the Democrats’ decision to alter the election calendar, which denied New Hampshire its primary leadoff placement.

Trump addressed party members, “I hope you’re going to remember that for the general election.” Trump has twice won the primary, but Democrats have both won the state.

Later, in South Carolina, Trump referred to the state as “a very significant state” and declared his intention to preserve the state’s presidential primary as the “first in the South.”
