In a Rosh Hashanah greeting posted on his Truth Social social media platform on Monday, former U.S. president Donald Trump disparaged American Jews who voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
Just a fast reminder for liberal Jews who chose to ruin America and Israel by voting for the wrong candidates! We wish you would have learned from your error and made wiser decisions in the future! Happy New Year,wrote the Republican, who is vying for the White House in 2024 with Democratic adversary Biden for a second time.
Then, Trump distributed a pamphlet from JEXIT (Jews Exiting the Democrat Party), an organization that was founded in 2018 to protest what its members perceive to be the Democratic Party’s rejection of Israel and the American Jewish community. In the article, Trump’s accomplishments for Israel and the Jewish community from 2017 to 2021 are listed.
They include relocating the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, Judea, and Samaria communities, signing an executive order declaring Judaism a nationality as well as a religion so that it is covered by Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and enacting the “Never Again” Holocaust education bill.
According to a survey on the 2020 election, 77% of Jewish voters preferred Biden to Trump, and a June 2018 poll by the Jewish Electoral Institute suggested that 72% of Jewish voters will support Biden in the 2024 election, compared to 22% who will back Trump.
However, a CBS News survey released on Sunday shows that Trump and Biden are tied 50–49 percent nationally.
