The 12th Siyum Hashas holds the record for Met Life attendance, according to the fact-checking tool on Twitter known as “community notes.”
The erroneous tweet by a pop culture account saying musician Ed Sheeran smashed the all-time attendance record at MetLife Stadium with a crowd of 89,000 prompted the clarification.
However, ‘community notes’ reacted to the tweet and changed it to correctly credit the 2012 Siyum, a fantastic event that attracted close to 100,000 people.
The 12th Siyum HaShas, which took place on August 1, 2012, set the all-time attendance record for MetLife Stadium with 93,000 spectators, according to the fact check.
Although it was said to have had around 92,000 people, the thirteenth Siyum in January 2020 appears to have had fewer attendees.
There was a second location at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. However, it’s unclear why there weren’t as many people there.
