Two Jewish conservatives launch the ‘Jews Against Soros’ website

The recent incident in which Elon Musk, the founder of Twitter, compared the renowned political funder George Soros to the supervillain Magneto sparked discussion about the line between acceptable ideological criticism and antisemitic hatred.

Two Jewish conservatives have now started a grassroots movement to provide clarification.

Josh Hammer, senior editor at large for Newsweek, and Will Scharf, a candidate for attorney general in Missouri, have started “Jews Against Soros.”

Their new website states: “Identifying the various ways that George Soros and his network of organizations fund the radical left is not antisemitic. Being anti-leftist is not the same as being antisemitic, and leftism is not the same as Judaism. Period.”

The website then details the 92-year-old Holocaust survivor’s history of supporting political activism, including his support for the BDS campaign against Israel.

“Soros has dedicated his life to fomenting American anarchism, undermining Israel’s territorial integrity, and more generally destabilizing Western nation-states,” Hammer tweeted.

The Daily Caller quoted Scharf as saying, “We plan to build a grassroots army of Jews committed to standing up against Soros and his brand of leftism.”
