
On late Saturday, four people, two kids, were killed when their golf cart was struck in a multi-car crash allegedly involving a drunk driver.
The local police said the incident occurred in Galveston, Texas when an SUV went through a stop sign and hit a pickup truck.
The police added that the pickup truck then crashed into the golf cart with a driver and five passengers.
The police immediately arrested the SUV driver, 45-year-old Miguel Espinoza, who is set to face four counts of intoxication manslaughter.
According to reports, the golf cart driver died at the scene, while two minors and an adult woman were pronounced dead after being hospitalized.
The local police further added that another adult and minor aboard the golf cart were said to be in critical condition after being hospitalized.
Galveston police Sgt. Derek Gaspard said the golf cart appeared to be driven legally at the time of the crash.
The police added that Espinoza sustained minor injuries, as did a passenger in his car.
Espinoza’s bond was set at $400,000.
