Shalom Sofer, a citizen of Petah Tikva who was stabbed two weeks ago in a Samarian Arab town and had moderate to severe injuries, died on Tuesday due to his wounds. The levaya’s specifics are not yet known.
The terrorist stabbed Sofer (age 63), who managed a store in the town of Kedumim when he and his son entered the store in the village of Punduk near Shechem. Sofer’s stomach was stabbed multiple times.
Sofer was recuperating and had been discharged from the hospital, but according to his son Lidor, the wounds suddenly erupted and started bleeding, which led to Sofer’s demise.
“We are saddened and pained at the death of Shalom Sofer HyD, who an awful terrorist assassinated,” Kedumim regional chairman Chananel Durani said. Shalom was a decent, trustworthy, and kind individual.
“The incoming government must reverse the previous administration’s words and acts that encouraged terrorism and put an end to all considerations of making concessions to the Palestinian Authority.”
In a statement, Prime Minister Yair Lapid said, “I got the news of Shalom Sofer Z’l’s passing with profound grief.
He passed away from his wounds two weeks after being struck by a terrorist.
I’d want to offer his family condolences on behalf of the Israeli government and the people.
The evil terrorist was apprehended that day, and security and IDF forces will keep up their fight against terrorism day and night.
