When two Israeli siblings were killed in the Palestinian hamlet of Huwara, the Israeli government said on Monday that it expected Israel to hold those responsible accountable and compensate those whose homes and property were harmed or destroyed.
Ned Price, a State Department spokesman, said, “we expect the Israeli government to ensure full responsibility and legal prosecution of those responsible for these attacks in addition to compensation for the destruction of homes and property.”
Netanyahu described as “absolutely unacceptable” the Sunday night incident in the Palestinian hamlet of Huwara that involved hundreds of Israeli Jews.
Price also condemned the “horrific” terrorist shooting on Monday night that killed a 27-year-old Israeli-American and took the lives of two Israeli brothers as they were driving through Huwara.
In all instances of extremist violence, Price stated, “accountability and justice should be pursued with similar rigor and equal resources allocated to prevent such assaults and bring those responsible to justice.”
