The United States has pleadged to give an additinal $350 million in aid to Ukraine to be used for its ongoing fight against the Russian invasion.
Sources said Secretary of State Antony Blinken authorized another $350 million in immediate assistance to help Ukraine “defend itself from Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war.”
Blinken said part of the U.S. assistance includes “anti-armor, small arms and various munitions, body armor and related equipment.
Aside from the monetary donation, Blinken also called on the people of Russia to appeal to their despot leader to stop its attacks against Ukraine.
“To the people of Russia: You deserve to live in peace and with dignity, just like Ukrainians. Just like people everywhere,” Blinken tweeted.
“You do not deserve a pointless war with your neighbors, friends, and family in Ukraine. The people of Ukraine deserve to live in peace, as do you,” Blinken added in another tweet.
Meanwhile, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said the U.S. has provided more than $1 billion in assistance to Ukraine in the last year.
