A spokesman for Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported to the media that the premier’s car collided with another vehicle early Thursday after a battlefield visit, and luckily he was not seriously injured.
According to a Facebook post from Sergii Nikiforov, Zelenskyy was returning to Kyiv from the Kharkiv region, where he visited troops in the recaptured city of Izium. On his way, a passenger vehicle collided with the president’s motorcade in the Ukrainian capital.

Although the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, the driver of the other vehicle received first aid from Zelenskyy’s medical team and was taken away by ambulance. Medics examined the president, who suffered no serious injuries, and Nikiforov did not specify what injuries Zelenskyy might have suffered.
No further details of the accident have been provided, though in a nightly address posted a little later than usual, Zelensky said he had just returned from Kharkiv after making a surprise visit to Izyum.
