On Thursday, a rescue truck was given to United Hatzalah in memory of Dee family members who perished in a terrorist attack in April.
Rabbi Leo Dee, one of the surviving family members, attended the unveiling event for the cutting-edge vehicle at the volunteer emergency response organization’s Jerusalem headquarters.
He was traveling on Route 57 near Hamra Junction in the Jordan Valley on April 7 when Hamas terrorists opened fire and killed his wife, Lucy Dee, 48, and daughters, Maia, 20, and Rina, 15.
Avi Tobias gave the car as a gift. The vehicle’s dedication read: “In loving memory of Lucy, Maia, and Rina Dee H”YD. May their lives and memory survive as a blessing to their family and all of Am Yisrael.” after Rabbi Dee cut the ribbon. Ilana and Avi Tobias are “Am Yisrael Chai.” Below the text, a picture of Lucy, Maia, and Rina can be seen.
On the opposite side of the car are three inquiries that Lucy Dee recommended people always ask themselves: “What have I done for someone else? What have they done for me, exactly? How has God helped me?”
Dr. Yishai Ben Uri, a doctor and United Hatzalah volunteer, will use the car after an arson assault in Jerusalem’s Silwan district in October 2022 cost him his previous car and the cutting-edge medical equipment it contained.

Last month, Rabbi Dee urged Israel to stop financing the Palestinian Authority and give Palestinians the chance to find employment.
At a meeting of the Israel Victory Caucus of the Knesset, the Efrat citizen with British ancestry made an ardent appeal to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Dee referred to the “pay-for-slay” program, in which the P.A., as “the Palestinian Authority is a terrorist state, which finances murderers and terrorists,” gives terrorists and their families stipends each month.
With an Authority that supports terrorism, he declared, “There is no two-state solution and no future.”
