An IDF officer and three other troops were hurt on Wednesday night while helping to safeguard the organized entry of Israeli civilians to Joseph’s Tomb in the city of Shechem, according to information made public.
When an explosive device exploded near the four, it harmed them. The soldiers’ families have been notified, and they were sent to a hospital for medical attention.
The officer sustained a minor injury, two of the soldiers appeared to sustain minor injuries, and a third soldier sustained moderate injuries. When the security personnel were working to secure a route that wasn’t used by Israeli citizens to approach Joseph’s Tomb, an explosion took place.
The coordinated entry of Israelis to Joseph’s Tomb will proceed as usual, according to the IDF.
The Nablus Battalion, the Islamic Jihad’s military wing, took credit for planting the explosives. 39 Palestinian Arabs were hurt, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent, in fights with Israeli security personnel.
The event close by did not stop the entrance to the tomb from proceeding as scheduled.
A security incident caused a delay on the route to Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem, MK Tzvi Sukkot tweeted.
We offer our sincere prayers for the protection of the IDF soldiers and officers guarding the entry.
We must stomp out terrorism. without pausing for a second.
“The events in Shechem tonight are the inevitable, bloody, and painful result of the protocols of the Oslo government that were revealed last night,” minister of settlements and national missions Orit Strock retorted.
Instead of ‘cleaning the streets of Shechem,’ Mahmoud Abbas and his supporters came here to instill terrorism. We must abandon the Oslo idea! Recognize the enemy and neutralize his resources.
לא יפחידו אותנו ולא ינצחו אותנו!
