
On Wednesday, a helicopter being attempted to be stolen crashed at Sacramento Executive Airport, leaving a mess in its wake, according to investigators.
Around 4 a.m. At six in the morning, someone attempted to start one of the four helicopters parked at the airport, according to Sacramento police.
The Bell 429 helicopter ended up on its side with its tail boom cracked and its rotors sheared off.
There were no reported injuries. Authorities said that no arrests had been made since the thief fled.
A federal offense is the destruction of an airplane.
The FBI, Federal Aviation Administration, and National Transportation Safety Board were conducting investigations.
