The “DRONE DOME” will be installed and used in Dubai by Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. to defend the Gulf metropolis from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles.
The company and the Dubai Police earlier agreed to supply the DRONE DOME C-UAS system, a commercial end-to-end system for securing airspace against hostile drones.
According to Rafael, one of the globe’s biggest concerns is the use of hostile drones in terrorism, criminal activity, and autonomous strikes. Drones operating close to airports jeopardize passengers’ lives and commercial planes.
By identifying unknown targets at a distance of 3.5 kilometers, creating alerts, and reacting in real-time with minimum collateral harm to the surrounding environment and maximum safety for friendly aircraft, DRONE DOME can effectively enforce UAV No-Fly zones.
Maj. Gen. Mohammed Nasser Al Razzoqi, chief of Dubai Police’s General Department of Operations, said, “In Dubai Police, we acknowledge the necessity of staying ahead of emerging threats and utilizing cutting-edge technologies to enhance the safety and security of our community.
