Conservative icon and former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee recently spoke with an Israeli news organization.
In the interview, he criticized President Biden for interfering and “injecting” himself into the domestic topic of the Israeli government’s proposed judicial changes.
Huckabee remarked, “I think that the Biden administration has enough problems in their own country,” in an interview with Arutz Sheva.
Their involvement in Israeli politics is not only unique, but the stance they take is in direct opposition to how the United States is governed, where the judicial branch has the authority to supersede the other two departments.
He asserted that “debate is the sign of a healthy democracy.” However, occasionally people will claim that the problem is judicial reform when in reality their problem is with the Prime Minister.
“I have followed the Prime Minister throughout the years and am a huge supporter. His mastery of statecraft is unparalleled; he can negotiate with every type of foreign leader, maintain Israel’s security, and keep the Jewish state going forward in difficult circumstances. “A balance of power is an acceptable concept.
There is no government branch that has authority over the other two in the United States, so we definitely have it. It seems strange to me that one branch should have unrestricted control.
Using the Torah as a reference, Huckabee criticized the Biden administration’s stance on Yehuda and Shomron. He said, “I don’t understand why anyone would think that Israel giving up a chunk of the land promised to Abraham 3,800 years ago is a good idea. Israel has received less territory and less peace with each land exchange.
He also spoke about his support for Trump as president in 2024 while criticizing the Biden DOJ. “I would adore Donald Trump to return to the White House. I’ve never witnessed a campaign when the president used all of his executive authority to bring charges against the loser.
You enter dangerous terrain when you prosecute someone for holding a belief or stating something you disagree with; this is behavior more appropriate for a third-world banana republic.
