
Israeli singer Noa Kirel stated on Tuesday that she was not disappointed or offended by comments made by Knesset member Moshe Gafni the day before.
The chairman of the finance committee for the United Torah Judaism party indicated that he would “donate some clothes” to the 22-year-old performer during a budgetary debate in parliament.
He appeared to be referring to the scanty attire Kirel dons when she performs, which include her third-place result for her song “Unicorn” at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool on May 13.
“I genuinely believe that everyone has the right to voice their opinions, and I accept that this is his opinion. Everyone is free to think as they choose, and since this is his, it’s completely acceptable, she told Channel 12 News.
“Most opinions are ones of pride and love, but there are also these opinions, and it’s totally fine, he has a right to express his opinion,” she added.
