Tevin Grant, 28, was taken into custody by Broward Sheriff’s Office violent crimes detectives in connection with an earlier this month violent antisemitic attack.

On Tuesday, February 7, at about 5:30 p.m., a crime occurred close to the 2400 block of Stirling Road in Dania Beach.

The victim said that while on his bicycle and speaking on the phone in Hebrew, an unidentified person screamed an antisemitic epithet at him before attacking him.

A man is seen punching the victim in the face on surveillance footage while wearing a yellow hat, an open black and white plaid button-down shirt with a blue shirt underneath, and black leggings.

The victim was struck, causing him to drop off his bike and hit the ground. The victim rose as the attacker drew closer. The individual then turned around and went away.

After engaging in an argument with many nearby workers who had witnessed the assault, the perpetrator is then seen fleeing.

According to detectives, the victim was hospitalized after the incident and sustained several injuries.

After detectives learned of his movements, Grant was apprehended on Tuesday, February 21, in Dania Beach, close to the 1300 block of Stirling Road.

He was charged with one count of aggravated assault and was taken to BSO Main Prison. If a hate crime enhancement is applied to the first charge, that decision will be made by the Broward State Attorney’s Office.
