The Sadigura Rebbe of Jerusalem paid a condolence visit to Rabbi Leo Dee, during which Rabbi Dee made an unusual request of the Rebbe. Rabbi Dee had lost his wife and two daughters in a terrorist attack on Pesach.
He began by asking the Rebbe if he waved the Israeli flag, to which the Rebbe replied in the affirmative.
After that, he inquired as to whether the rebbe would be prepared to recite Hallel on Israel’s 75th anniversary of independence, which is at the end of the following week.

The Rebbe responded positively when the man first asked if he waved the Israeli flag. Then, inquiring about the rebbe’s availability to recite Hallel on Israel’s 75th anniversary of independence, which falls at the end of the next week, he continued.
“When he managed to flee to Palestine, he did get up early and clean the streets of Tel Aviv,” the Sadigora Rebbe added. Even when his supporters questioned him about it, he remained silent on the reason for it.
We are bred with this tradition of love for the Land of Israel. And let’s put more significant effort into loving every Jew, regardless of how he looks or what his ideas are.
We’ll handle this on our own, and I believe the Hallel will materialize naturally, he said.
